The most common belt mistake is ordering the wrong size. Not because sizing is complicated — but because most buyers use the wrong reference point. This guide gives you two methods, a complete size chart, and answers to the most common sizing questions.
Method 1: The trouser label method
Check the label inside any pair of trousers you wear regularly. Find the waist size. Add 2 inches. That is your FountainEarth belt size.
Example: trouser waist 32 = belt size 34. Waist 36 = belt size 38. Waist 30 = belt size 32.
This works because belts are designed to fasten at the middle hole of five — which requires the belt to be approximately 2 inches longer than the trouser waist.
Method 2: The measuring tape method
Wrap a measuring tape around your trouser waistband at the level of the belt loops — not at your natural waist. Pull snug but not tight. Note the measurement in inches. Add 2 inches. That is your belt size.
The common mistake: measuring at the natural waist rather than the belt-wearing position. Always measure at the belt loop level.
The FountainEarth belt size chart
S — fits waist 28-30 inches. M — fits waist 32-34 inches. L — fits waist 36-38 inches. XL — fits waist 40-42 inches. XXL — fits waist 44-46 inches.
If between sizes, size up. A slightly looser belt is always better than one that is too tight. FountainEarth reversible belts can be adjusted within 5cm after delivery without tools.
The no-size option
The Smart Fit No-Hole Leather Belt eliminates the sizing question entirely. A ratchet in the buckle adjusts to the millimetre. No holes. No fixed sizes. It fits perfectly, always. Rs.1,999.
