The Recraft 2-in-1 Convertible Recycled Bag is FountainEarth's convertible carry — finished in GRS-certified recycled pebbled leather, sized at 26 cm × 35 cm × 5 cm. How it is used

A bag for the person whose day shifts between commute (backpack), meetings (sling), and weekend (either) — and who refuses to swap bags every time.

• 2-in-1 convertible carry. Two leather shoulder straps attach for backpack mode (hands-free, weight evenly distributed). One strap detaches and the other repositions for sling/crossbody mode (single strap, hands-free, different silhouette).
• 5 compartments inside. 4 zipped compartments (including the main, the front external, an internal organiser, and a hidden back) + 1 open slip pocket. Enough organisation to find a charger without rummaging.
• Fits 11-inch tablet. Padded internal sleeve sized for iPad Pro 11", Galaxy Tab S9, Surface Go, and equivalent. The 5 cm slim depth means the bag stays sleek even when loaded.
• 26 × 35 × 5 cm vertical format. Vertical (taller than wide) so it wears comfortably as both a backpack (centred on the back) and a sling (against the side without slapping the hip).
• Pebbled recycled leather. Natural-grain pebbled texture on GRS-certified recycled leather — softer in the hand than smooth or saffiano, more forgiving on visible wear.

Made in Bharat at our Delhi workshop

FountainEarth is a Made-in-Bharat leather brand. Our recycled leather comes from GRS-audited supply chains, and every Recraft is hand-stitched and finished at our Delhi workshop. GRS (Global Recycled Standard) verifies the chain of custody, the recycled content percentage, and the environmental, social, and chemical management at every stage. The convertible strap system is the structural distinctive of this bag — bonded-leather construction at the strap connection points (for shear strength when carrying load), with stitched leather across the wearing lengths. Both modes use the same set of attachment points; converting takes about 30 seconds. The Nib emblem is debossed during finishing, and the lining is stitched not glued.

The bag ships with silver-toned hardware throughout — strap connectors, FountainEarth Nib zipper pullers on all four zips, and the cast Nib emblem are solid zinc alloy with industrial-grade plating. Colour: classic black. Ships in the FountainEarth branded dust bag.

How to care for the bag:

• Wipe occasionally with a soft dry cloth. No chemical cleaners.
• The pebbled finish hides scuffs well — small marks blend into the natural grain.

Frequently asked questions

How does the conversion work in practice?
Both shoulder straps attach to four points on the bag (two at top, two at bottom). For backpack mode, both straps stay attached and run vertically over the shoulders. For sling mode, one strap detaches at one end and the other repositions to a diagonal crossbody angle. About 30 seconds either direction.

What tablet sizes fit?
The internal sleeve is sized for 11-inch tablets: iPad Pro 11", iPad Air (current 11" generation), Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Microsoft Surface Go 4, and equivalent. Larger 13-inch tablets do not fit — for those, choose the Meridian Recycled Leather Messenger Bag.

Is recycled leather second-rate?
No — recycled leather is built from leather panels rescued from tannery offcuts, blended, and re-finished to the same wear-resistance standard as virgin leather. The pebbled finish hides minor scuffs better than smooth leather.

Is FountainEarth the same as Fountain Earth?
Yes. Same brand, same workshop. FountainEarth is the compound brand mark; Fountain Earth is the spaced form we use in legal and trade contexts.

What does the warranty cover?

How does it ship?
Every piece ships in the FountainEarth branded dust bag — a soft cotton sleeve that protects the leather in transit and works as long-term storage when the piece isn't in daily use. For corporate orders we have two tiers: plain corporate orders start at a 10-unit minimum; custom-branded orders (co-branded dust bag, monogramming) start at a 25-unit minimum, with a typical 4–5 week turnaround.
