FountainEarth is a Made-in-Bharat brand. The brass body is contract manufactured to our specifications at a facility that has produced brass pens for the German luxury market for over two decades. The diamond-cut texture is machined into the brass during manufacture, so the pattern is part of the metal — it cannot wear off, fade, or flake. The finish, the cap mechanism, and the gunmetal treatment are quality-checked at our Delhi workshop before each pen ships. Fountain Earth's catalogue stays small by choice: six brass pens total, each with a single deliberate design idea.

The G2 ballpoint refill is engineered for clean ink flow and quick dry time. G2 is the most widely stocked refill format in India, available at any stationery store starting at around ₹50. G2 refills are NOT compatible with Schmidt-format pens — only the Gunmetal Diamond-Cut and the gift sets containing the Gunmetal use this format.

How to care for the pen:

• Wipe occasionally with a soft dry cloth. No chemical cleaners.
• Store in the FountainEarth gift box between heavy use, or any soft cloth pouch.
• When the cartridge runs dry, unscrew the rear barrel, slide the old refill out, slide the new refill in, and screw the barrel back on.
• Avoid extreme heat (closed cars in summer) — brass is durable but ink can dry faster in heat.

Every pen carries a 1-Year Warranty. The warranty covers material and craftsmanship defects in the first year — the cap mechanism, the threading, the finish. What refill does it use, and where can I buy them?
The pen uses the G2 standard ballpoint refill in blue ink — the most widely available refill format in India, starting at around ₹50 at any stationery store. G2 refills are NOT compatible with Schmidt-format pens (used in our other five brass pens); they are a separate format. Specify "G2 ballpoint refill, blue, standard" when buying.

Is the gunmetal finish plated?
The gunmetal tone runs across the entire pen — the body, the clip, and the cap ring all carry the same dark-grey gunmetal plating. There are no separate accents in a different colour (no gold, no silver contrast). The body is solid brass with industrial-grade gunmetal plating, engineered for years of normal daily use.

Is this a fountain pen?
No — it's a ballpoint pen with a fountain-pen weight. The G2 ballpoint cartridge gives clean ink flow with the dry-time of a ballpoint, in a brass body weighted like a fountain pen. Best of both formats for daily use.
